Reaction pathway of nitrate and ammonia formation in the plasma electrolysis process with nitrogen and oxygen gas injection

The plasma electrolysis method using N2 and O2 injection is an effective environmentally friendly solution for nitrogen fixation into nitrate ammonia. reaction pathway, the effect of gas composition are important parameters in understanding mechanism effectiveness these processes. This study aims to determine formation pathway ammonia by observing role reactive species as well intermediate compounds. Two pathways NOx have been observed. compound formed was oxidized ∙OH NO2, followed production a stable compound. ammonium produced from generated reacting with ∙H H2O. amount NH3 lesser compared compounds liquid phases. indicates that more dominant than test ratio N2/O2 = 79/21 most another ratio. results emission intensity measurement show ∙N, ∙N2*, ∙N2+, ∙OH, ∙O significant through while ∙N lead NH3. highest product obtained at N2/O2: 1889 mg L−1, reached 31.5 L−1 100% injection.
